Message From CFC President:
The Calgary Firebird Club was started in 2003 by George Callaway, who acted as Club President for the first two years of its existence.
Since then, the Club has grown from one car (George's) to almost forty cars of all four generations of the Firebird. These cars are in all states of repair, from "works-in-progress" restoration projects to "show cars" that consistently turn heads at the show & shines the Club attends throughout each summer and win prize plaques at the annual World of Wheels Show each February.
The members of the Club are people of all ages, from teenagers to grandparents, and enjoy getting together two or three times per month for Club cruises around the Calgary area and for Show & Shines that are hosted by a variety of groups and are held every weekend throughout the summer.
The Club hosts its own Show & Shine on the last Sunday of May each year at the parking lot of the Southcenter Shopping Mall. At the 2007 S & S, the Club had over twenty show cars of its own, as well as entrants from a variety of other clubs and individual entries.
The Club meets monthly on the last Tuesday of each month at the conference room at the Calgary Motor Products showroom, located at 36th street and 16th avenue N.E. in Calgary.
Club members pay an annual membership fee of $25.00 which entitles them to vote each February for a Club Executive and for the annual "Member of the Year" award.
The Club can be contacted by e-mailing the Club President, Dave Holmes, at bandit77@shaw.ca.
