they are a bit of a pain to change. It's between the right fornt fender and the door, behind the inner fender, if you are patient, and don't get all rammy, it can be done with minimal damage to you and the car !!! I had to change the one in the 89 when she got here, took me a couple hours of holding my tongue just right !!! if you want to plug the fuse back in, the wire and relay are just under the map pocket on the pass side behind the plastic trim piece, unplug that and the motor will stop running, and all the acc's that are on that fuse will work. Till you get the antenna replaced. Hope this helps a bit

I had the same problem. Something about nylon gear--breaks easy.

I got a new antenna it was about $300.

If your motor is fine, you can get a new antenna mast to fit inside your current housing / motor assembly for a lot less money.

I have seen them on Ebay for under around $30 to100, complete antennas for $120. US of course + shipping

Mine needs fixing too

I believe this one is the correct one for our cars.

Antenna repair kit

I just removed mine and the pic from the link (once blown up) looks to be the same. I am going to order it, so if you re not in a rush, I'll let you know if it fits when I install it.

Here are some pics of my broken one removed
