6th Annual CFC Show & Shine over for this year!

Calgary Firebird Club Show & Shine is over with for another year. Mother nature did her best to spoil our fun but she was only partly successful. We had, thanks to the weather, only about 42 cars out, of which, about 25 were club cars.
The PT Cruisers gave us their support with 8 cars and took the Club Participation Award. The Hooters North store supplied 4 of their girls to help us out. They did an admirable job selling 50/50 tickets and helping out with the award presentations, along with a "Wing Party" certificate worth $160.00 that was raffled off (Note to Dave P. - I await with baited breath my invitation to the party).
We raised $800.00 for the Children's Wish Foundation, a commendable amount considering the turnout of participants.
Thanks in a huge way to Robin, Jon, Dave M. and Tim for organizing the event, supplying a great sound system (Tim), a quiet generator and coffee stuff (Jon) and to everyone else who helped in all aspects (Mike G. for judging Best Technical and Dave C. and Chris for judging Best in Show). Van Houtte provided the much appreciated coffee and Jason Evanson was there from the Children's Wish Foundation. Special thanks to Photography by Bully, as well as the Memorabilia people who drove all the way from Innisfail, AB.

Our annual Calgary Firebird Club Show & Shine is here! Summer has finally joined us and we can get on with our show (and shine). Join us Sunday, August 8, 2010 in the northwest corner of the Deerfoot Mall parking lot, all the same details as our original May 2010 plans. Please note we will be in the northwest corner, not the northeast corner traditionally used for car shows. Once again, our charity is the Children's Wish Foundation.

Our major club event is planned for Sunday May 30, 2010 at the Deerfoot Mall, 901 - 64 Street NE, Calgary, AB, Canada. Once again, our charity is the Children's Wish Foundation. The rain out date is to be determined.

2009 Northwest Cruise Calendar
The 24th Annual 2009 Northwest Cruise Calendar is available online at: www.members.shaw.ca/calgarycc. This is a 16-page document that you can download for free or can purchase for a nominal fee (details are provided on the site). The 2010 edition will be printed and available shortly after the New Year.
At the bottom of their website, click on the 'Cruise Nights' link to find the location and dates for Weekly Cruise Nights in the Calgary area (happening in Spring, Summer and Fall - on nice weather nights).
Past Calgary Firebird Club Show & Shine Events
The 2009 Charity Show & Shine was held at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino (Calgary, AB) on May 31st with over 120 cars in attendance. We raised $1,600.00 for the Children's Wish Foundation.

Our annual CFC Show & Shine took place on a rainy Sunday in August, it in itself being the scheduled Rain-Out date from a Snowed-Out date in May. We raised $800 for The Children's Wish Foundation despite the less than usual turn out to the event. Next year's 7th Annual CFC Show & Shine is planned for May 29, 2011. Read more...
