ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Last updated: October 2026

The Calgary Firebird Club wants everyone to be able to use our website, including people with disabilities and members who prefer larger text or simpler pages.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where we can. We are a small volunteer club, so we keep improving the site as we go.

What we have done

To make the site easier to use, we have:

  • Used a high-contrast dark theme with light text and a gold accent colour

  • Kept the menu short and the pages simple

  • Used clear headings on every page

  • Added text descriptions to club photos where possible

  • Made sure the site works with a keyboard and common screen readers

  • Made pages work on phones and tablets, and with browser zoom

Known limits

Some parts of the site may not be fully accessible. Photos uploaded by members may not have text descriptions. Some features, like Groups and event sign-up, are provided by Wix, and we cannot fully control how they work. Older files, such as past event posters, may not be fully accessible.

At club events

Our monthly meetings and events are held at local venues. If you need help getting to or into an event, let us know ahead of time and we will do our best to help.

Need help or found a problem?

If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, please send us a message using the form on our Contact page. Messages go to the club president. Tell us which page and what went wrong, and we will do our best to fix it or get you the information another way.
